We are searching for a Senior UX designer to help us create accessible, engaging products and services that are meaningful to teachers and learners. As part of the UX team you design and validate user experiences for our digital solutions based on quantitative and qualitative data. You breathe and talk UX. You’re no stranger to apply your skills also on a strategic or service level or call upon them for facilitation and communicating design to stakeholders and direct UX colleagues alike.

Your role As a senior UX designer, you will enhance our educational platforms for primary and secondary education. You will primarily focus on our secondary education platform, while also collaborating with designers from the primary education team to ensure alignment across both platforms. You'll blend traditional and digital learning tools to improve user experience, working alongside a team passionate about impactful, user-centered design.
What you’ll do
Lead through design: Use your expertise to convert complex educational challenges into clear, intuitive user interfaces. You will be directly involved in the conceptualisation through to the implementation stages, ensuring a seamless user experience.
Own your projects: Initiate and oversee the development of new initiatives in collaboration with product managers and developers. Your role will involve frequent user interactions to gather insights and validate design decisions, ensuring our solutions are closely aligned with user needs.
Collaborate across teams: Work closely with our cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and data analysis, to integrate and refine functionalities that enhance educational outcomes.
Elevate our craft: Serve as a mentor within our design community, sharing your knowledge and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Your insights will play a crucial role in advancing our design standards and practices.
Drive user engagement: Develop strategies that increase user engagement and satisfaction. Your designs will directly contribute to the user-friendly nature of our platforms, making learning more enjoyable and effective.
Job requirements
Who we’re looking for:
Proficient in Figma and experienced in creating user-focused designs.
Ability to rapidly prototype your ideas/designs.
Setting up and performing user research.
Experience in projects that have a complex information architecture
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders from all publishers.
Experience in an international, remote working environment preferred.
Excellent communication skills in English and at least one of these languages: Dutch, Swedish, French, Polish, or Portuguese.
Extra points for experience in educational publishing or working directly with learners or teachers.
